Georg Niederkofler, the CEO of the subsoil construction company established in 1979, Alpenbau of Terento, and his innovative team, began researching the field of Nanotechnology when “the third technological revolution” was on everyone’s lips. He was inspired by this new technology during various initial tests on the capacity of the material to bind with loose soil – in this case, the soil in a mole hole. The extraordinary binding capacity of the material so fascinated him that he decided to research further into the field of nanotechnology.

Silicon - Polymer Additive

Nanoalps GmbH is an applied geotechnics research and development company. Alpenbau of Terento (Trentino Alto Adige / Italy), a company with a track record spanning several decades, assists Nanoalps in all technical matters.

At the heart of Nanoalps® branded systems lies a silicon based polymer additive used mainly for construction materials. It interacts with the hydraulic binders in the nano range to increase their working capacity. The bonded polymer is ecological, improves on various technical properties and reduces construction costs. It even bonds with saline water.
